Enjoy! --------------------------------------------------------------------- What is Kill Winamp? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Kill Winamp does not, as the name might suggest, kill Winamp. It either closes Winamp or stops the current song playing or it can shut your computer down (it will power off if supported by hardware) after a certain number of minutes or songs played. It does not require Winamp in order to turn off the computer. --------------------------------------------------------------------- How to use Kill Winamp --------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, select whether to kill (close) or stop Winamp or to turn off your computer. Next, select whether to perform the selected task after a certain number of minutes or songs played (select Limit Songs or leave it unchecked). Then enter the number of minutes or songs to play. Press activate. Wait! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Typical Usage --------------------------------------------------------------------- o Let the music play a few songs while you are falling asleep. o Keep listening to music while you leave home. o Play a last song while a fullscreen game is starting up. o Computer timer --------------------------------------------------------------------- Explanation of options --------------------------------------------------------------------- Allow 10 s regret time: When the computer is supposed to shutdown you still have ten seconds to press an abort button to stop the shutdown. Beep while displaying the regret box: When the abort button is displayed, the computer can be to notify you that a shutdown is imminent. Display songs or time left in window title: Kill Winamp's title bar displays the songs or time remaining. Play minimum x s before counting song played: How many seconds that a song have to play in order to be counted as played. For instance ; if you listen to a song for ten seconds and then switch song the first song doesn't count. This options only applies when you use song mode. Exist in system tray/task bar: Determines whether Kill Winamp should be shown amongst other open applications in the task bar or "hidden" as an icon in the system tray (display in the lower right corner of the screen along with the system clock). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Version history --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.0 (Sometime in the year 2000) Initial release Could not shutdown Windows 2000. Minimum seconds played to count a song can be altered. Optionally updates window title with countdown information. Saves options & settings. Can shutdown Windows 2000 if it has the given rights. Queries Winamp directly to figure out which song is playing.
